September Adventures!

State Fair

Todd and I went to the Utah State Fair in September- it's always so much fun to eat way too much fried food, watch people, and look at all of the 4-H animals.  We try to go every year because it's always so fun!

My Navajo taco.  It was huge- and delicious!

FAIR TIME!!!

Our fried Snickers.. It was the best thing I've ever eaten.  Seriously.

Girls Night Out

A couple of friends from BYU-Idaho and I were able to get together for a girls night out earlier in the month.  It was SO good to get together and catch up.  I have missed these girls so much!  We don't get together very often, but it is always awesome when we do.

Liz, Jess, and I outside of Chili's after dinner.

After dinner I introduced them to this little chocolate shop in the Avenues.  It's called Hatch's Family Chocolates.  If you're ever in Salt Lake City, you need to go there.  They have the BEST hot chocolate.  Seriously.

Jess, Liz, and I at the chocolate shop.. I'm just so excited for that chocolate!

BYU Game

Todd's dad came up for a BYU game.  They had great seats by the end zone, and had so much fun hanging out together!

View of the game from their seats.  What a view!  They went on 9/11, so they had a memorial.  The picture of the crowd says "We Will Never Forget".  Todd says it was a really touching, and brought back a lot of memories of that memorable day.

Well,, now we're caught up with the year of adventures!  Now, all I have to do is stay up to date so I don't have to play catch up next time.  Check back often- we have some fun stuff coming up! :)

Camping Craziness

For Labor Day weekend this year we went camping with our landlords/neighbors.  We did 2 camping trips in one weekend.. It was SO much fun!

The first trip we did was to Jordanelle State Park- just about an hour away from where we live.  Nate and Ayelen brought their pretty dog Scout, and we had a lot of fun!

Group shot. Apparently Scout is camera shy...haha.

View of the campground.

Our second camping trip for Labor Day weekend was up to Bear Lake.  Neither one of us had been to Bear Lake before, so we were so excited to have that experience!  It is so beautiful there- I wish I could move there.

Bear Lake.  Just look at that view!

Before we headed home we had to get another famous raspberry shake. I'm not usually one for a fruity shake, but man were they good!

In September Todd went on a weekend camping trip with his brother Keith.  They went to an un-named lake in the Uintas- that they later named Anderson Lake.
Look at that view.  So pretty!

These are their "Grumpy Cat" faces.  It rained a lot on their second day out there.  Lame!

These two have way too much fun together!  I'm really glad that they have such a strong relationship- it's so fun to watch them when they get together.  They can entertain each other for hours.  It's awesome!

Hit and Run 5K

In August Todd ran his first 5K.  It was an obstacle/Wipeout themed race, and he was so excited to do it!  He ran it with a couple of people from work, and also one of our friends that loves to run.  There were 4 of them, so they dressed up as the Ninja Turtles.  Todd was Leonardo- because he's coolest of course!
The starting line of the race- I was really impressed with the turnout!

Before the race- he's ready to win this thing.

The last obstacle.. It was the only one I could see, but good thing it was the best one!
 Just look at that form!

At the finish line.  Great job you two!

4th of July

Ever since we moved to Utah, we haven't really known what to do for the 4th of July.  Usually we just lay low for most of the day, and then get together with family and/or friends for fireworks, a cook out, or a fair.  The 4th is one of my favorite holidays, so it's been kind of a bummer the last few years.  This year, a few of Todd's siblings were going to be at his parents house in southern Utah for the 4th, so we decided to make the trip down there.  It was the best 4th I've had in years!  I LOVED the small town parade and celebration, and it was so good to spend time with his family.  I think it'll become a regular thing.

Hooray for establishing another family tradition!  Yay!

Family Reunion

In June my whole family was able to get together for a week.  It was so nice to be able to get everyone together and build some memories in my parents new house.  We don't get a chance to have everyone together very often, so we got some new family pictures!

What a good looking bunch!

On the first day we went up the mountain behind my parents house and built a fire, roasted some marshmallows, rode the dirt bikes, and just enjoyed the great outdoors.  It felt like we were back in Idaho.

Todd and M chillin'

J and C roasting some mallows

We made many trips to the pool at the club house in the neighborhood.  That was the main attraction!

Dan and M playing in the pool

Jason goofing off with the rest of the boys :)

Little K showing off his new found swimming skills.

My parents live right on a golf course, so we spent many evenings searching for lost golf balls to help Grampy James gather more for his golf ball collection.  The boys LOVED looking for golf boys and made a competition of it- and I'm pretty sure my dad won't need to buy any golf balls for a very long time!
Look at those mountains!  Such a beautiful view.

Little K and M sharing the bike trailer- I don't think they liked being cooped up together
in such a small space.. But they sure look cute!

Showing their loot to Grampy James

One of the main attractions we went to was a place called Jump On It!  It's a huge warehouse that's full of trampolines.  Wall to wall trampolines.  It was a blast!  Most of the pictures I could find were super blurry, so this is the best I could do.  :)

M hopping around.. Isn't she the cutest?!

Jason and Tammi

J showing off his mad trampoline skills!

We wanted to shake things up and decided to stay in for an afternoon- so we made a trip to an arcade! It was nice to just let everyone loose in a big room full of games where we could just do our thing, but also run into each other and play some of the games with each other.  It was fun to share one of the things we love to do with our family members!

A showing off some of his winnings

Corey and K bonding over shooting some bad guys

M and I sharing a ride on the carousel

We went to a lake and spent the afternoon soaking up the sun, fishing, canoeing, and some of the guys even went swimming.  It was nice to just spend time away from it all- and to just sit around talking.  It was super pretty too!

K doing some fishing.  Man, do those boys love to fish!

Soaking up the sun!

K, Corey, C, and Little K canoeing.

M pretending to fish.  Isn't that swimsuit the cutest thing you've seen?!

My mom got a super fun game called "Tensies" and we played it a lot!  It's super addicting, and is just a came of chance- which is why I like it so much.. haha.  And the younger kids can play a modified version of it- so everyone can be involved.  It's a really fun game- we definitely need to add it to our game collection.  Anyway, here are a few pictures of us playing tensies!

It's an intense game that takes a lot of focus.. Just look at that focus!

A dominating at dice stacking

I won!  (Obviously.. just look at that grin!)

Todd lost.. Sad day!

Well, that concludes our Wood family reunion!  It was so fun to have everyone together.  It doesn't happen often, but when it does it is a BLAST!  I can't wait until next time.  Hopefully it'll be soon!
