Crashing cars and waaaaay too much fried food

It's that time of year-- State fair time of year!  It's one of my favorite traditions that we have-- to go to the fair and eat fried foods until we feel pretty sick.  And then eat a deep fried Snickers.

This year we went with our friends Andy and Jules.  We got tickets a month before for the Demolition Derby-- which was awesome!  It was mine and Todd's first Derby- and it won't be our last for sure!  I learned that I really want to be a derby driver.. For real.  I also learned that my dad was a derby driver for a little while.  So it all makes sense now- it's in my blood!  Some day I will be a derby driver, and it will be amazing!

Obligatory fair picture.. Dang, we're cute!

Our view to the East during the derby.  Utah is so pretty!

Action shot.  It was so loud- I almost lost my voice from yelling!

The group.  Don't mind Andy's face.  It just looks like that. :)

Another action shot.  We all chose different cars in each round.  Mine was the
black and pink one.

My favorite part was the mini car derby.  They were so much faster and agile.
It was great!

This was when my black and pink car died.  It was a sad day, but
he was one of the last ones standing. :)

Fair food!!  Sooo yummy.

Cootie Catcher Date Nights

Let me start out by saying that I married basically the best guy in the world.  We're trying to cut back on our spending and Todd knows that it has me a little stressed.  Todd made a "Cootie Catcher" like the one below.  Inside it has 8 cheap/free dates that we can do.  We've only had the chance to do 2 of the 8 so far because of different projects that I've had going on.

The first date was a little outside my comfort zone.  Todd printed off a bunch of things to do at Walmart.. Like put M&M's on layaway, stalk people throughout the store, sneak embarrassing things into strangers carts, etc.  So I went through the list and hi-lighted the ones I was willing to do.  We went to a Walmart that's a couple of towns away-- juuuust in case we got kicked out.. haha.  We set the alarms on a bunch of watches to go off at the same time, pushed all of the buttons on toys that make noises at the same time, had sword fights in the toy section, and a bunch of other things. I only have picture proof of a couple of the things we did.
Todd put 4 of these big coats on me.. It was SO hot!

Todd's First Day of School picture. :)

We pulled up some chairs and watched one of the Star Wars movies.

Todd tried training some velociraptors.

Then I took a shot at it.  Turns out, I'm WAY better at training dinosaurs.  Who knew?

I had a thumb war with The Hulk.  AND WON!!

And we left this little gem on a digital camera there.. haha. Good thing we don't know too many people in South Jordan.

The second cootie catcher date was to Eye-bomb random objects around town.  We went to Walmart, bought some googly eyes and got busy putting those bad boys on different objects around the shopping district near us.  We were giggling so hard at times that we were crying.  I felt like a kid again!  And we got lots of strange looks.. It was great!

Googly pumpkins.

Googly Doggie.

Something about those googly pups cracked us up!

Chewbacca.

Random kid on a diaper box.. haha.

Hitler looks a little less scary with googly eyes.

We had so much fun Eye-Bombing things.. We'll probably do it again.  People probably thought we were crazy because we were cracking up so much.  Stay tuned for more Cootie Catcher Date Nights!

Summmmmer

It's always sad when the last weeks of summer are here.  We had so much fun this summer, but didn't get a lot of the projects done that I was planning on doing.  But at least we had fun, right?  I guess winter is a good time to get inside projects done, like painting every room in our house.  :)

Over Pioneer weekend Todd and I rode with Corey to Vernal to meet up with my parents and C and Little K.  Erin stayed home because she wasn't feeling well-- we sure missed her!  Grammy and Grampy took the kids over earlier in the day to scope it out eat lots of ice cream, because that's what grandparents are for!  Todd and Corey had to work, so we headed out after they got off work. It was on our bucket list to go to the dinosaur museum in Vernal, so we talked to Corey and my parents and they thought it would be fun too!

We had watched Jurassic World just a few weeks before this..

They had this big wall FULL of bones.. There were hundreds of dinosaur bones
just in this one wall.  It was crazy!

These weirdos dared each other to kiss the bones?!?  They might just be the first
people to kiss dino bones in history!

Pretty Corey.... haha.  He had Grammy Lyn's visor and my sunglasses on.

Little K being sworn in as a Junior Ranger

Little C flashing his Jr Ranger badge

Pretty view on an excursion we took

Panorama of the top of the hill.  So pretty!

Little K thuggin' it up on the way home.  He's so cute and FULL
of personality.  Never a dull moment around that house!

The next couple of weeks were busy, fun, and warm!  I wish it could be summer all the time.  It's an amazing time of year.

For Little K's birthday we went to the Kearns Rec center.. it was so much fun!  This is the
only picture we got.. we'll do better next time!

I came home from work to see Todd reading in his hammock and Stella
exploring the yard.  This is summer.

We went to a Salt Lake Bee's game with some friends.  It was kind of rainy all day, but cleared up and ended up being a pretty good game!

Group shot!

This little nugget made his debut in August.  He is SO sweet!

Grammy Lyn, C, K, and I hanging out.

Fun times with Uncle Todd!

And then there were three!  Corey and Erin will have their hands full
with these cute boys.

We learned that we have some deer friends that live pretty close to us! Stella
was so excited to get pretty close to them.

It's so fun to walk down and see them.  There are some neighbors that feed them.
It's good to know that they are well fed and safe where they are!

K and I were practicing our "Spy Moves" on the trampoline.  Then we started a game of "Crack the Egg".. I won, of course.  :)  He looked so cute- I had to snag a picture.

We're going to savor the last couple of weeks of summer.  I find myself already looking forward to next summer and the adventures that it holds!

Family Time!!

Jen and her family came into town in July.. which always calls for a party!!  I was able to take the week off so I wouldn't miss out on any of the fun.  Todd and Corey had to work, but we tried to coordinate the really fun stuff with their schedules.

Little M couldn't get enough of Stella.  It was so cute-- and Stella loved it.

J and the snake her caught up in the canyon.  He loved torturing us
with it!

Little K, Todd, Stella and me on a walk.

Stella had to stay on a leash the whole time, but she still had fun!

M and Todd were inseparable.  She sure loves her Uncle Todd.

One of the days we spent in Salt Lake City. We went to the farmer's market, the gateway mall, and the visitor's center temple square.
Todd snapped this cute picture of Little K.
So cute!

M thuggin' it up in Todd's hat.  Cutest little gangster ever!

K and M.  We did lots of walking.. her little legs were tired!

We spent another day up at Deer Creek Reservoir.  It's beautiful up there!  I can't believe that we've lived in Utah for 5 years and that's the first time we have gone.

Little K and M building sand castles.  They are becoming cute little friends.

Little K was cold, so I offered to snuggle with him.  It was well worth the weird
tan lines I got from it. :)

C and J making sand castles.

Enjoying the beauty all around us!

It was so good to spend time with both sides of the family this summer.  It's always hard to say goodbye.  I already can't wait until next time!
