August 2019- Potty training, Preschool, and Skeletons

Riley was set to start school in the middle of August, so we had to finish his potty training ASAP- which brought on another potty chart.  A poop potty chart.

It took him a while to get that part of potty training down, but once he did (and filled up his potty chart again) he was really good at it!

On his way to meet Miss Donna and his class mates

First day of Preschool!

While Todd took Riley to the restroom at a store I jokingly put this little skeleton in Riley's spot in the cart.  He was instantly taken with it and named him "Happy".  So, obviously we came home with a skeleton in the middle of August.

Insisted that Happy be buckled in and wear his sunglasses.

Playing in the sprinklers with neighbor friends!

First REAL day of Preschool.  He was so excited!

These two neighbor girls came by to see if Riley wanted to ride bikes with them in our driveway.. He's already got the girls knocking at our door!

Riley's mirror creation from Preschool.

Dinner with friends

Riley's baby from Preschool.. he loves her!

We weren't sure if he's right or left handed (and still aren't quite sure), so we got him a mitt for both hands to figure it out.

July 2019- Potty training, Jumping place, and a hallway picnic

In July we decided that it was time.  Time to start potty training with Riley.  A few months ago we bought a potty seat and had Riley sit on it a few times just to kind of get used to it.  We both had a long weekend with the 4th of July holiday, so with that and Riley scheduled to start preschool in a little more than a month, we decided to go for it.
The night before we started the process I got this in my fortune cookie.. and it was scarily accurate how much patience I would need!

Going on a quick walk the night before. Riley insists on holding Stella's leash.  Good think she's awesome on leash so we don't have to worry too much about it.

Riley's Potty Bucket of treat incentives.

First time wearing big boy undies!

Yes.. we're that trashy family that let him play in the driveway in a t-shirt and undies.  I didn't want to clean up silly string all over the house, so we did it outside.

Completed his first Potty Chart! 🎉🎉

Reward for completing the potty chart: going to the Jumping Place!

Picnic in the hallway while I get ready for the day.

For a few weeks he did this face with the hand up when asking a question.. It was so cute and I'm so glad we caught it on camera!

Painting something for Grammy Lyn and Grandma Pam.

Hanging out eating popsicles.

Riley helping make biscuits.  He's such a cute little kitchen helper!

Digging out treasures from a block of ice.  Perfect for a hot summer day.

Riley decided he needed to bring his toolbox with him to Lowe's.  It was adorable!

We had K over for his "Special Day" for his birthday present.  He got to choose an activity, treat, movie, and what we had for dinner.  Riley loves spending time with K- they are cute little buddies.

Settling in to watch a movie.

Our friends up the street were getting rid of this sweet ride, so we had to get it.  Riley was stoked to drive it up and down the street, and got pretty good at keeping it on the sidewalk!

Ugh. So cute!

I love these long summer days.  It's so nice to be able to get out of the house and take a walk around the block, play in the sprinklers, and eat popsicles together.  Heaven on Earth!
