November 2020- Quarantine, VHS watching, and Thanksgiving!

Well, November was memorable but not very eventful. 🤣  I'll explain.

The first Friday of November, Todd was feeling funky in the morning.  A few hours later he had a small fever, and was a little achy.  No big deal, we'll see how this plays out.   A couple of hours later his fever had gotten over 101 and he was feeling ROUGH.  He though it was just a cold/flu.  I was pretty sure it was Covid and that he needed to get tested.  As soon as his fever appeared, he was sent downstairs to quarantine until further notice (AKA until we got him tested for Covid and knew what we were dealing with).

He went in to get tested the next day (Saturday), and by Sunday night we had his test results back.   He was positive for Covid.

So he had to quarantine downstairs- no contact with the upstairs or outside world.  And Riley and I had to quarantine from the outside world too.  Fuuuuuuun. 😕

Feeding my prisoner- this was the hardest part- being in charge of ALL of the meals.  I'm spoiled and Todd takes care of most of the cooking, so it was a LONG 10 days (probably for him too- I kept forgetting to make sure he was good on food.. 😬)

We moved the little tube TV upstairs so we could play the Nintendo and watch VHS movies (we don't have a TV upstairs, so this was the only way to keep us from going crazy!)

We played a LOT of games together, did art projects, and built stuff with Legos.

And played a LOT of Candy Land.  I ended up ordering other games from Amazon because I was so sick of playing Candy Land. 😂

Building towers to pass the quarantine time.

A few days before Todd's quarantine I went to get tested so I could go back to work. It was a Saturday, and by Monday morning I had my test results back.

Positive.

UGH!!

No symptoms.

I had to start my quarantine from Monday, which put it ending the day after Thanksgiving.  So we went along with Todd finishing up his quarantine downstairs, and us being able to hang out together as a family by Tuesday.

Monday night I ended up spiking a fever, was super nauseated, and I had a giant headache.  So we swapped places and I quarantined downstairs.  It was SO hard being away from Todd and Riley.  We really mild cases (thank goodness!), but it still sucked.

Riley showing me what book they were reading for bedtime that night.  That's as close as we got during my quarantine.  Todd was vert attentive and I was very well taken care of.  I need to take lessons from him. 😂

We ended my quarantine from downstairs on Thanksgiving morning (free to go into the world the next day!!!).  The first thing I did was hug my boys!  I missed them!

Todd and Riley starting on Thanksgiving dinner prep.  We just had the three of us (still in quarantine), and it was so nice!  Todd killed it with ALL of the food!

There were a few nights in November that Riley insisted on sleeping in the chair like this.  I moved him every night back into his bed, but had to document it.

Stella is the best pup in the land.  This is her reminding me that she hasn't had dinner yet.  She just comes and looks at me, then goes and lays down.  Isn't she so cute?!

Bike rides pre-quarantine. This kid kills me!

First snow storm!

Decorating the tree.  Riley LOVES Christmas and was SO excited that it was finally time to put the tree up again!

Here's to December being a little less Covid-y and a little more outside-the-house-y. 😁

October 2020- Tooth Fairy, Cecret Lake, and pumpkin guts

Let's see what October had in store for us...

My friend invited Riley and I to go to Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point at the beginning of the month, so it was a fun way to kick off October!

It took some MAJOR bribing to get this cautious kid on the horse (named Elvis.. he was so cute!).  This is how Riley REALLY felt about the whole situation. 🤣🤣

After the first picture, he insisted that I hold onto the horn of the saddle and walk around with the horse. It was hilarous!

More bribing to get a picture of him smiling on Elvis.

Riley and my friend's kid D.  They had so much fun together!  We went to lunch afterwards together and had so much fun!

Dinner by the campfire one night.  It is so nice to hang out around the campfire and enjoy the fresh air.

We went on a hike to Cecret Lake with some friends one Friday afternoon.  It was kinda chilly, but so pretty.

Riley trying not to fall into the SUPER cold water

Look at those views!

The BEST part was catching salamanders- they are just so cute!  They were out there pretty far, but this one was close enough to catch.

Riley and Todd relaxin.

The kids throwing rocks in the water. They were in heaven!

Cool dudes!

Online church- business up top, comfy on bottom. 🤣

Riley had a tooth accident at the beginning of October (the third accident involving the same teeth in less than two years) and knocked his front teeth loose.  After a few days he decided he was ready for Todd to help pull the looser of the two.  He looks SO dang cute and so big with his new toothless smile.
He was pretty nervous to lose his tooth until he learned about the Tooth Fairy and that money was involved, then he was all in!

In October we did an adoption fundraiser (Thanks again to all who bought eggs/donated!).  It was a lot of work, but so much fun!  We're excited for the next one! :)

At Wheeler Farm again- this was his face after he told me he couldn't look at the camera and needed to keep his eye on the road.  Oh my goodness, this kid KILLS me! 🤣

Riley has spent a lot of time looking through the toy magazines we've gotten in the mail.  I love the concentration on his cute little face.😍

Riley and I making some pumpkin chocolate chip bread to share with some neighbors.

Riley with his goggles working on his dinos.  This kid cracks us up!

We've done a LOT of Lego building during this Covid stuff, but any time there's a blanket on the floor Stella is on it within minutes.  She loves a cozy place to lay.

Riley and Todd watching baseball together.  So cute! "Let's GET those guys!"- Riley 2020

We got our first snowfall (not cool, Utah. Not cool).  Stella, Riley, and Todd all love the snow though, so they had fun!

Riley and Todd's first snowman of the season!

Carving Riley's first pumpkin- he wasn't a fan of the guts and kept gagging.. haha.

Riley's Halloween parade at preschool.  He looked so cute!

Robber, Tanooki Mario, and Cape Mario.

Riley and his pumpkin have matching smiles!

Mario

Homemade pizza for Halloween dinner.  YUM!

October was fun and full of adventure (for being in the midst of a pandemic).  We'll see what November brings!  :)

September 2020- Canoes, Corndogs, and Church!

September came and went like a flash.  This year has been the longest (but fastest at the same time).  It's just so weird to think that almost everyone in the entire world has been affected by this pandemic.

Anyway, on to the September shenanigans!

Riley  helping brush Stella- he is always so eager to help! :)

He wanted me to take a picture of him and Spidey all tucked in. So cute!

Our friends from Colorado came to visit and we went and played on this cute little lake down in Payson.  Riley went out on the canoe with Kori- which was a huge deal for that cautious kid!

The World's Best Corndogs.  They are pretty dang good!

Riley discovered the storage compartment on the couch and decided that was his hangout place.  I have to admit, it does look pretty cozy!

We found ourselves in downtown SLC around dinnertime, so we decided to eat at one of our FAVORITE places- Charlie Chows.  It's so so SO good, and I've missed it so much.

This was AFTER I was full.  The servings are huge.

Riley with his food- he is just the cutest!

Feeding the ducks at Wheeler farm- this is the BEST part of going there. :)

We decided to try out a fishing spot in Murray- it was cold and wet and the fish weren't biting, but it was a fun adventure!

We went down to Orem to watch C's football game.  Seeing these 3 cute cousins together just warmed my heart.  They had SO much fun together!

We FINALLY felt comfortable going back to church at the end of September.  It was so nice just to be in the church building again.  And Riley definitely needs to re-learn how to be reverent again.. haha.

Can't wait to see what October holds for us! Until next time! :)
