August 2022- Pancakes, First day of school, and Cousin time!

August was crazy!  I feel like it flew by.

Riley made pancakes from his cookbook and even flipped them himself!

One proud kid.

Eating lunch with his Halo mask on.. haha.

We played A LOT of Uno... like lots.

Riley helping Todd make something yummy

These two keep me on my toes!

Riley had his first eye exam and was hoping to need glasses, but he has great vision!

They were great with him!

He got these sweet shoes for school but had to learn to tie them before school started.  He picked it up super fast!

Grammy Lyn & Grampy James got these awesome air pressure rockets.  We had so much fun!

Back to School night!

First day of First grade!  He's going to a new school to participate in the Dual Language Immersion program for Spanish!

Todd's sister and her kids came up to visit before school started for them, so we tried out a new indoor fun center.  Riley LOVED the foam pit.

We played mini golf!

We went to the arcade the next day because the weather was pretty rainy.

Playing in the creek before they left.

Riley ended up getting sick a few days into school, so we enjoyed some time outside eating popsicles and getting fresh air.

We put up the new, safer trampoline!

Riley played Uno against Spidey

And ended the month with 3 rounds of antibiotic shots to get rid of the ear infection that was the culprit of his fever for almost a week.

Hopefully September will bring less doctor visits and more fun!

July 2022- New cast, Grandparents, and the last Choco Tacos known to the Anderson Family!

July was... hot.  And not super eventful (thankfully!).

The last picture of Riley's tall cast

Graduated to the short cast!  We was so excited to be able to bend his elbow. Haha.

Watching the Braves play!

Riley's face when they won!

M signing Riley's cast

We went to the pool with some friends from school

Riley's cast cover was a lifesaver.  He had so much fun in the water!

Riley's decorated cast

Riley's last picture with the cast right before we got it taken off!

He gets to wear the brace while being active for a couple of weeks, then he is FREE!!

We went to the butterfly dome at Thanksgiving Point earlier in the month- Riley loved the small butterflies, but wasn't a fan of the big ones.

Reading to Grandma Pam- we loved having them visit for a few days!

Dinosaur park at Thanksgiving Point.

Frisbee golf with Dad!

Story time shenanigans

Riley had his first bout of pink eye after a nasty cold, so we were basically homebound until it cleared up.  It was a bummer.

There were LOTS of pajama days

Todd chased down the ice cream truck to see if they had any choco tacos- and they had 3 left!

Riley's choco taco was very melty by the time he finished it. haha.

He has been loving choosing things from a kids cookbook and making them.  I love that he likes to cook like his dad!

Let's see what August has to offer!  Only a couple more weeks until school starts.. Ugh.

June 2022- Field Day, ER Visit and a Family Reunion!

June had a rough start... but we'll get to that story in a minute.  :)

Riley had his last day of school and field day.  I was able to help out with one of the stations and see Riley and some of his friends from the neighborhood!

I helped with the balloon relay race station.  It was so fun!

The first full week of summer break Riley had an accident and fell off the trampoline and broke his arm.  We were supposed to start another T-ball season that week with Todd as the coach again but had to cancel because Riley couldn't particiapte.

In the ER waiting to be seen.  We went to the instacare by our house first, but because his arm needed to be reset we were sent up to Primary Children's.

Riley showing off his sling.  They put a soft cast on it for a week so the swelling could go down before they put a hard cast on.  He had to take it easy because if he bumped his arm too hard he would've had to had surgery to put it back in place.  I was a nervous wreck that week- I didn't want him to have to have surgery.

His arm looked good at the follow up appointment, so they put a long cast on his arm!  It goes up above his elbow.  He'll have this cast on for a few weeks, then if it looks good they'll give him a shorter cast below his elbow.

Todd went backpack camping with some of the young men from the ward and had so much fun!

They went to the high Uintahs- it was so pretty up there.

There was still quite a bit of snow on the ground, so it ended up being kind of their winter campout instead of their summer one.. haha.

We had our annual Wood Family Reunion in Eden again at the end of June/beginning of July.  Everyone was there (except for Jason's wife Tammi- she was helping her dad in Texas- we missed her!).

Uncle Jason making a sweet airplane for Riley!

A trail of kids on the way to the pool in the neighborhood

Petting kittens at the petting zoo

Playing on the tractors at the petting zoo

Family pictures!

So much cousin time

Riley saved his long cast for family to sign, so we had a cast signing party!

Crafting with cousins

Todd and the big boys went camping one of the nights.  They didn't have tents so they just slept in hammocks.  Todd went along to make sure they didn't do anything too dumb like start the whole mountain on fire.

Their campsite

For the 4th of July we went to Liberty to join in their festivities.  We watched the parade, some of the kids participated in mutton busting and the greased pig chase, and the fish catch.

We thought the fish catch would be goldfish, but it ended up being 12 inch trout.. haha.

Riley showing off his decorated cast!

He got a bloody nose at the pool and I had to document it.. It was just too funny!

Here are the rest of the random June happenings!

Riley had a pet roly poly for a few days

He earned a Lego AT-ST and was super jazzed about it

Uncle Keith, Aunt Rachelle, and Blair sent some 'bone growing' pills so Riley could get feeling better faster

Our baby robins grew up and flew away!

Todd and Riley saw Lightyear and loved it

We went to Taylorsville Dayzzzz and had some yummy food!

Riley played a game at Taylorsville Dayzzzz and won an owl!  He named him Taylor. :)

We went to the Salt Lake City Art Festival

June started off rough with the broken arm, but we still had lots of fun!
